holiday greetings!

We have been away from the office for a few weeks. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

We were blessed with a lot of snow on Christmas. I love the snow! I love the beautiful snowflakes, each one a tiny miracle with no two alike! This alone causes awe, wonder and amazement at God's glorious creations.
My mother taught me to cut-out snowflakes when I was very young. We cut-out snowflakes each year and each year my snowflake designs were increasing in beauty until I have surpassed her beautiful designs with my own beautiful and intricate designs.
Did I mention that I love snowflakes! I have been inspired by Wilson A. Bentley's life and work. I would check-out his book 'Snow Crystals' from the library often to view the beautiful snow crystals. 'Snowflake Bentley' is a charming children's book about his life.
My husband, knowing my love of snowflakes, gave me "The Little Book of Snowflakes" and 'The Magic of Snowflakes' by Kenneth Libbrecht for my birthday a few years ago. The pictures are amazing!

fall is in the air

Fall has definitely arrived. The other day it was cold and rainy, it was the perfect day to stay inside and make the house smell wonderful with freshly baked homemade bread. So that's what I did. I have also been creating beautiful place settings with my fall splendor line (of course) for Thanksgiving Dinner. Here's a sneak peek....

going green!

recycle, regift & rejoice with this itty bitty purse and album.
The purse was made from a soap package I found at Pier 1.
It measures just 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
The itty bitty album was made by cutting 2 strips of card stock 2" high. I scored each strip at 2" intervals leaving enough room on one of the strips for the flap that folds to the front. On the strip with the flap, at the end of the last score, I made 4 additional scores just apart from each other, using about 1/2" of the strip, before the flap so it would fold over nicely. I fan folded each strip and attached the strip with the flap, to the other on the last fold. I decorated each page of the album with coordinating patterns. Using a tiny strip of paper, attached only to the front, I made a closure for the album.
I found making the itty bitty purse and album much easier than writing the instructions for it. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Pyzam Family Sticker Toy

This is our stick family. I had to LOL while creating this, it was a ton of fun. I like a little nonsense once in a while, it keeps life interesting. Click on the picture and make one of your family.

Designer Highlight

on the dot is pleased to introduce designer Debby Lewis.
Debby created her first scrapbook page when she was 9 years old. Her scrapbooking has evolved along with the industry. Today, she is the owner of Creative Dreams Studio, where she creates while staying home with her children. She is inspired daily by her children and grandchildren to create and scrapbook beautiful memories. Debby specializes in mixed pattern layouts and her style ranges from the classic to the altar arts. She has a strong belief that the design must focus on the photos and the story - that is the heart of scrapbooking. Debby's works have been published extensively and she has been the recipient of several awards displaying her many talents. We are so happy to have her.

Introducing a way to scrap and help save the environment.

Create a gift for someone using recycled items and your favorite scrapbook papers and embellishments. It’s an idea that will change the way you scrapbook.

Kids can give this cute gift to grandparents, friends, or anyone else. They can be great Father's Day or Mother's Day gifts as well as ornaments for the Christmas tree!

Ice Cream

This has nothing to do with scrapbooking, but I couldn't resist, it's a fun quiz.
I do like vanilla ice cream, however my favorite ice cream is not ice cream at all. I love Haagen-Dazs Raspberry Sorbet.
The personality was right-on - too funny.
Take the quiz and see what flavor you are.

Kids Creation Station

A big welcome to everyone stopping by from CHA - Kids Creation Station.
We are excited about this opportunity. Children need the chance to be creative and develop their talents.
As a child I would color with crayons, paint with water colors, draw with pastels, cut n paste and make crafts - almost daily.
My favorite time in school was the time we spent on arts and crafts.
I remember trying to be like my older sister, she would draw and color so perfectly, I just had to do it too.

CHA Winter 2008 Expo

We made our debut in February at the 2008 Winter CHA Show in Anaheim. It was exciting to finally get out there and show off our stuff! We had many comments from store owners that our papers were "fresh." We are thrilled to offer simple and refreshing products.

A Formal Introduction

We would like to introduce 'on the dot', a brand new paper company - featuring fresh, bright, and slightly distressed paper collections, designed with scrapbooking, card making, and paper crafting in mind.

Our papers are patterned on both sides, with a simple pattern on the reverse side. The 65 lb weight makes it ideal for paper crafting of all kinds. Each collection includes a coordinating 12 x 12 die cut sheet, with 25 die cuts.
